The Travel Bloggers (https://thetravelbloggers.com) is a personal travel site operated by Tom Royce (“I,” “me,” “the site”). This policy explains what information the site may collect and how it is used.
What this site is
Guides to towns and places to stay and eat. It is not a booking engine, payment processor, or membership product.
Information you give me
If you use the contact form or email me, I receive whatever you send (typically name, email address, subject, and message). I use that only to reply. I do not sell your contact details.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the host and WordPress may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. That is used to run, secure, and debug the site.
Cookies
WordPress and the theme may set essential cookies (for example, to remember a login if you are an editor). If analytics, advertising, or embed cookies are added later, this page will be updated.
Comments
Comments are currently closed. If they are opened later, a comment and the data shown on the form (and your IP, which WordPress may store to fight spam) would be published or held according to WordPress defaults.
Third parties
The site runs on WordPress and a hosting provider. Pages may load fonts, maps, or video embeds from third parties; those services have their own policies. Hotel and restaurant names are editorial. If I use affiliate links, a third party may know you clicked through from this site.
Analytics and ads
I may use privacy-respecting or standard analytics to see which articles are read. I do not currently run a comment-powered ad network on the public pages described here. If that changes, this policy will change.
How long data is kept
Contact messages are kept as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable record of correspondence. Server logs follow the host’s retention. You can ask me to delete a message you sent.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA/UK and some U.S. states), you may ask what personal data I hold, ask for a copy, ask for correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Email tomroyce@gmail.com. I will not sell personal information.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the rule). I do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
No website is perfectly secure. I take reasonable steps to keep the site and inbox from casual abuse.
International readers
The site is operated from the United States. If you contact me from elsewhere, your message is processed in the U.S.
