Boyd’s Blue Chip Casino Opens in

BlueChipCasinoThe Blue Chip Casino is now open in Northern Indiana. The tremendous size and opulance of the ship makes the Blue Chip a destination for many throughout the midwest.

We’re clearly raising the bar. It rivals even the Las Vegas casinos,” said Boyd Gaming spokesman Rob Stillwell.

According to Blue Chip officials, construction of the vessel, which has the largest casino boat hull size certified by the U.S. Coast Guard in the country, began in April 2004.

It sits where the old casino boat floated, thanks to a 27 million-gallon expansion of Trail Creek.

The 402-foot-long, 208-foot-wide boat can hold more than 6,000 people.

Among the features are 2,170 slot machines, 51 table games, along with a 950-space parking garage completed last year that raises the parking capacity to more than 3,000, according to Blue Chip officials.
